4 Bangkok Indoor Activities to Make Every Day a Blast

By Centara Hotels & Resorts Posted on 25 Aug 20

There are millions of things to do in Bangkok, no matter what your tastes. If you’re shopaholic, you’re in heaven. Like to party? You’re in for a huge treat. But what if you’re looking to have fun with family and friends, on a rainy day? The options here aren’t as well known – which is why we’ve put together this list of indoor activities in Bangkok that you will keep coming back for more.

Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World

is one of the biggest aquariums in Southeast Asia, and a perfect spot for the entire family to spend time together. It’s a terrific way to spend hours discovering the wonders of nature, and there’s lots of fun and excitement – especially if you’ve got kids.

There are a few different sections all for you and your family to explore. You’ll start your visit by encountering some weird-looking creatures, like eels and giant crabs. Then you’ll come across creatures from the reef, followed by a rainforest section, and close-up look at penguins and starfish. The main event of the aquarium is the underwater tunnel, where you’ll see many types of fishes, including sharks. Before you leave, Sea Life Bangkok’s jellyfish section will give you one last opportunity to marvel at the creativity and diversity contained in our planet’s seas and oceans.

BOUNCE

is a trampoline park where you can let all your energy loose, and jump around for an hour or more. There are branches at Emquartier, along with a special location at The Street Ratchada, which is their biggest jumping spot in Asia.

BOUNCE lets you enjoy plenty of different varieties of fun – including ‘free jumping’, which is a big open space for you to jump around on the interconnected trampoline. Next is a dodgeball section, which can be fun if you have friends or family members with you. There’s also a wall, for those with experience on the trampoline, as you can run up the wall after each jump.

Ice Skating

Perhaps surprisingly for a tropical city, there are even a few different places where you can go ice skating in Bangkok. The weather is hot all year around, so ice skating is a nice way to cool off for both kids and adults.

The Rink Ice Arena is located right in the heart of the city, at Central World. The skating area itself isn’t usually very busy, even though it’s in one of Thailand’s most popular malls. And once you’re done skating, you can find other ways to stay entertained, because there’s plenty of other places in the mall to hold your interest.

Yet if you don’t fancy travelling into the city centre, either because of the traffic or the crowds, then Sub Zero Ice Skate Club in Ekkamai (Major Cineplex Sukhumvit) may be a better choice. It’s cheaper than the previous option, but has a different atmosphere; during the evenings the rink turns into a club with DJs, live music and some snacks. If you’re travelling with kids, you should keep this in mind. Also, both places welcome guests with different levels of skating ability.

LazGam Laser Games

, like the name suggests, is a laser tag game that you can play with your friends and family, or other random participants who also want to join in at the same time. A maximum of 32 players can be in the game at any one time, adding to the craziness of shooting laser guns against your rivals. The rules are simple: Wear a vest that has sensors on it, so you’ll know if you’ve been shot at or not. Then shoot your laser gun at opposing players or teams, and the one with the highest score wins. It’s simple, yet so fun.
