Aspire International Kite Festival - Doha
Since 2017, the skies above Doha have come to life with the colour, choreography and creativity of the Aspire International Kite Festival. Typically held in early March, the festival takes place in Aspire Park, one of Doha’s most popular areas for sports and recreation. Visitors flock to the event in their thousands, gazing up in wonderment are professional kite fliers skilfully manoeuvre their brightly coloured kites across the sky.

Family Fun at the Aspire International Kite Festival
From the stunning aerial performances of professional kite fliers from across the globe to roaming entertainers juggling on stilts, the festival is bursting with fun for the whole family. The programme of events is typically divided into two halves, with the mornings dedicated to educational workshops and performances for schoolchildren. In the evening, the festival opens to the general public.
In addition to various contests for visitors to take part in, there are kite making and decorating workshops. In 2019, the festivities encompassed numerous entertainment zones, including a weather dome for workshops and activities, a wind garden and areas for parades and performances. There’s plenty to eat, too, as numerous food vendors set up stalls throughout the festival site.
