Your Scenic Seaplane Journey
A seaplane journey to Machchafushi Island Resort and Spa Maldives is a breathtaking introduction to the Maldives. In just 25 minutes, enjoy aerial views of turquoise lagoons, coral reefs, and pristine sandbanks leading to the resort jetty.
Meet and Greet Airport Assistance
Upon arrival, our representatives will assist guests at Terminal 1. Look for our signboard when you arrive. Seaplane check-in counters are located at Terminal 1 next to the arrivals gate.
If you cannot locate the representative, please proceed to the Seaplane Check-in Counter where the team will contact us and a representative will assist you. Our team is also present at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Counter A14.
Seaplane Transfers
Transfers are operated by Trans Maldivian Airways and are not included in the villa rate. As this is a shared seaplane service, your journey may include brief scenic stops at neighbouring islands before arriving at Machchafushi Island.
The scenic journey takes approximately 25 minutes and operates only during daylight hours between 06:00 and 18:00 hrs. Arrival transfers are available for flights landing between 06:00 and 15:00 hrs. For later arrivals, an overnight stay in Malé is recommended. Departure transfers are available from 09:15 hrs onwards.
Luggage Allowance
Each guest is allowed 20 kg checked and 05 kg hand luggage. Excess luggage is charged at USD 05 per kg plus 17% GST. Occasionally luggage may arrive on a later flight.
Arrival at the Resort
Guests will be greeted by a Guest Relations Officer. Some flights may land at a nearby platform with onward transfer by dhoni or speedboat.
Departure from the Resort
Departure details are shared via the Centara app the evening before. For early flights, settle bills the night prior. Flight times may change due to weather or operational needs. Stopovers at other resorts may occur occasionally.
Weather & Flight Variations
While your seaplane journey is usually smooth, Mother Nature can sometimes surprise us. Rough seas or strong winds may cause flights to depart earlier or later than scheduled, board from a different platform, or make brief stops at other resorts.
In rare cases of severe weather, flights may be delayed or unable to operate on the same day. Should this happen, any additional nights at the resort, overnight stays in Malé, or changes to international flights would be at the guest’s own cost, as TMA and Centara Hotels & Resorts are unable to cover these expenses.
