Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship
Since 1993, the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships has attracted some of the finest tennis players from across the globe. The list of former champions reads like a roll call of professional tennis stars, including former World Number 1s Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. The courts in Dubai have also hosted female greats, including Martina Hingis, Lindsay Davenport and the Williams sisters.

The tournament takes place across two weeks in February, and in 2021 will take place from Sunday 14 February until Saturday 27. Organised by Dubai Duty-Free, the event is one of the most eagerly anticipated occasions on the UAE sporting calendar. The Championship comprises a WTA Premier 5 women’s event, followed by the ATP 500 men’s tournament. The event has a huge following from across the globe and tickets are highly sought-after.
In addition to the on-court action, there is an extensive off-court entertainment programme, including the Tennis Village on the south side of the stadium. This is a great place to browse the products displayed by the tournament’s sponsors.
Getting to the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadium
The stadium is a five-minute walk from the GGICO Metro stop, or you can take the free shuttle bus from GGICO station that takes you directly to the stadium. If you’re driving, there is a Park and Ride option that is free to ticket holders.
