Department of Environmental Quality Promotion awards program recognises hotel operators that adopt environmentally friendlier operating practices

David Good, Vice President Operations, Centara Hotels & Resorts received the 2019 G-Green Award – Silver Level for four Centara hotels and resorts in Thailand. The G-Green Awards are given by Thailand’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s Department of Environmental Quality Promotion (DEQP).

Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand’s leading hotel operator, has received the 2019 G-Green Award – Silver Level for four Centara hotels and resorts in Thailand. The G-Green Awards are given annually by Thailand’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s Department of Environmental Quality Promotion (DEQP), as part of the government agency’s Green Hotel project.

The initiative was established by the Ministry to promote environmentally friendlier practices within Thailand’s hotel sector, encouraging more efficient use of resources and energy and improved service standards to reduce their environmental impact.

The award-winning hotels include the company’s flagship Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld; Centara Hotel Hat Yai; Centara Villas Samui and Centara Anda Dhevi Resort & Spa Krabi. The awards were presented by DEQP representatives at a reception held on 16 December 2019 at Centra by Centara Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre Chaeng Watthana.
