Safety Measures

We would like to reassure you of our commitment to the health and safety of all our guests and staff. All hotels under Centara Hotels & Resorts continue to follow strict safety protocols and adhere to rigorous health and hygiene procedures under our comprehensive and certified Centara Complete Care programme.

In light of the recent heightened restrictions within Thailand, and to comply with government regulations, certain services and facilities at our hotels in Thailand are operating with revised schedules, whilst other facilities have been forced to temporarily close. The restrictions vary by province and are in place until the end of April, but are subject to possible extension, so we advise guests to check the regulations and restrictions in their intended destination before travelling. Alternatively, you can of course contact the hotel directly. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Our latest policy regarding rebooking and cancellation is as follows:

Flexible Booking Policy For New Or Existing Bookings

  • All bookings made via the Centara website, central reservations office or directly with the hotels can be modified or cancelled, without any cancellation fees, up to 24 hours prior to arrival for city properties and COSI Pattaya Wong Amat Beach, and 48 hours prior to arrival for resort hotels, with the exception of Maldives resorts for which 72 hours’ notice must be provided
  • These terms may vary at any given time with prior notice and are subject to the hotel’s cancellation policy

Guests who booked via online travel agents or other third party channels are advised to contact their booking provider for assistance and information. This policy will be reviewed on a regular basis and is therefore subject to change.

Important Notices when travelling to the Maldives

1. Before Your Arrival

The Maldives Health Protection Agency (HPA) has made it a mandatory requirement for all tourists (including those who have completed the prescribed dose(s) of a Covid-19 vaccine) to present a negative result for a Nucleic Acid Test (PCR test) for Covid-19 on arrival effective 03rd May 2021. The sample for said PCR test must be taken not more than 96 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure from the first port of embarkation en-route to the Maldives. However, children below one year of age are exempted from the aforementioned requirement. HPA mandates all travellers to submit the negative PCR Test Result on an online health declaration form within 24-hour prior to their departure to the Maldives. https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ethd/create?lang=en

2. Arriving in the Maldives

As a proactive Covid-19 prevention measure, random sampling and testing of passengers at the airport will be conducted by HPA. This would be free of charge and international travellers may use the negative test result for their departure if it is within the required duration as mandated by their country.

3. Changing Resorts

Arrival and departure details must be shared prior to the stay. Guests arriving from another resort or departing to another resort within the Maldives will be subject to the status of both resorts at the time of change of property in relation to COVID-19 guidance and approval by the Ministry of Tourism (MOT) and Ministry of Health (HPA) of Maldives. If either of the resorts is under 'monitoring status' by MOT or HPA for contact tracing by local authorities; then, the approval may not be granted and this may impact your stay and require reservations to be cancelled at the destination resort.

Tourists coming from a guesthouse in local islands should hold a negative PCR test within 96-hour prior to check-out from the guesthouse.

4. Departing from the Maldives

Many airlines and countries require PCR Tests for arriving passengers. We do offer a PCR test service in our resort for the convenience of our guests at a charge of 100 USD Net per person. It normally takes up to 24 hours to get the results.

Please ensure to regularly check with your airline and the destination country on their PCR timing requirement. Some countries require 72, 48 or 24 hours old PCR tests from the boarding and/or arrival time. we will provide you with a professional government approved PCR service based on your requested timing. However, we will not assume any responsibility if the timing of the test is not in accordance with the requirements of the airline or the destination country. Please ensure to have the latest information that is applicable to your destination as the rules are changing rapidly.

5. If results are positive

* If tests results are positive, we will follow Maldives Authorities Guidelines on how to handle the case. For more information on government guidelines please visit: https://covid19.health.gov.mv/en/?c=0 and scroll to the bottom
